What Others Are Saying
Personal E-Mail 10/21/03:
Hi Bill,
I'm not sure if you remember me, so I'll refresh your memory. I met you in Puerto this past April. I stumbled in to your meditation class and you gave me a copy of your book at the end. (I was the guy who had the patch near his eye due to my surfing accident).
I wanted to let you know that even though I've read lots of metaphysical literature, I found your book “Awakening The Soul” to be very insightful and full of inspiration. I thoroughly enjoyed it and then passed it on to a good friend.
I think on some level as well it helped me refocus my life. Shortly after finishing your book, I decided to get my EFL teaching certification. I am now living in Alexandria, Egypt where I teach English with an American organization called AMIDEAST.
Anyhow, thanks again for the copy of your book. It was very helpful and it came to me just when I needed it. I hope your publishing plans are going forward. I'm sure that many people would benefit from your writings.
Thanks again for the miracle!
All the best to you,
Peter T.

I have to say that after receiving Book 3 in the mail over the weekend, I am greatly honored and so happy that you are part of this forum and we can actively speak with you about these books. That is absolutely wonderful!
I was so ecstatic after reading just the first couple chapters. The thoughts written were almost word for word what I have been thinking my entire life. I knew that we couldn't possibly have been created just to grow, suffer and wither away in a grave one day.
I knew in my heart that God was so magnificent that he had to have created something beyond what I was being taught. That’s not to say that I didn't take what I was being taught to heart and genuinely thought that I was simply...wierd.
The 2nd chapter gave me a total peace of mind seeing the references to scriptures and hearing you acknowledge your belief in Christ.
I understand that the book is not meant to be towards any religion if one at all, however I truly wanted to express how peaceful I felt once I saw that I wasn't the only Christian out there who had experienced the spiritual world and wasn't wrong is the slightest bit at wanting to connect with it again.
Thank you for that Mr. Missett.

I feel grateful to post in this thread, being it was the one that enticed me to buy all three of your books, which I find very enlightening. Nothing that was in the books made me feel sheepish, or out of touch.
I feel your books are of utmost importance, because 1. you put forth a real possibility of spiritual awakening, while 2. putting it in a practical sense which i feel is lacking from this site.
Most discussion on this site is of the occult and various forms of attaining enlightenment through practices such as reiki healing and whatnot, while all in good nature, are not realistic in approach to the average person.
I feel your approach is sincere and really addresses the spiritual shortfallings that have become of man, and gives a way for all of mankind to look at where we are spiritually and make the changes we need to, in order to live the life we have been given.
My outlook on life has drastically changed in the past few years, especially after reading your books. I have gained an insight to realms of spirituality I only wished I could have had before.
Now, if only I could restructure my life to fit around these goals, that I have hence set for myself, I could become the Soul that I feel I am on this planet to become.
With all Love.

I can wholehearted recommend Soulman's trilogy, "Awakening The Soul". Books 1 & 2 give background information and the bibliography is one of the best and most complete that I can remember seeing.
I have just started book 3 which seems to put the already learned information into the practice of integrating spirituality more completely into our lives.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I read Soulman's book earlier this year by a babbling brook in the woods so I could concentrate...There was much said very succinctly and I spent the whole time underlining sentences with notes.
Thank you, Soulman, you did a good job and I learned a lot.

The contents of the posted reply by Poppy are as follows:
Although “Awakening The Soul: Book 3” comes from a completely different perspective than I have experienced, I believe that this trilogy is the best referenced by footnotes that I have seen anywhere. Bill offers his views in the clear, convincing way of the newspaper editor that he was for many years. These books are very well written.
Paranormal Research Society blog post 1/27/08
OK. .Well I seconded the Poppycock notion. . . and Bill asked me in a private post to fill him in on what my "multidimensional friends" (spiritual guides) had to say about the subject. So Bill I don't have to eat too much crow. . ...I like my birds well done with gravy. ..good spices, wine, pretty girl. . Oops, I digress
But my friends said there is more truth to his perspective than what was included in my experiences and more truth than what I chose to believe. Hmmm OK...
And they said that my understandings and perspectives also held much truth and
“The Truth” of it all is full of many details and many many distinctions
that cannot be told in one email post even if I do read energy. . .(they are always so blasted blunt. ..ya know?)
And that our very small still developing reptilian/mammal/ brain we got here really cannot grasp in full the entire subject. ... So be tolerant (and) remember that even opposite points of view has merit and don't pick on it based upon one post ...
They basically communicated (to) read the publication(s) make notes and pick it apart from that perspective or leave the subject alone . ..except for posting your own experiences that both will and will not at different times support his hypothesis.
Also I was informed it will be helpful to a lot of people who do not have the benefit of my personal path and experiences. ..
So. . Bill Missett. .. I asked.. .they answered. . . Thank-you for letting me learn and please pull the feathers before you serve me the crow !! LOL Good Luck with your book.
Best to you

I've been using the Soul Awakening Exercises on a fairly regular basis for
about 6 months. I originally tried them in Spring 2002, but made a commitment
to them in late Winter 2003. I worked with them daily for about 6 weeks, and
have since practiced them at least 2-3 times per week. To preface, I've got a
20-plus year background in meditation, and 15 years of living a yogic
lifestyle. I am a long-time initiate and practitioner of kriya yoga, and it
is very rare that I deviate from this path to try something "new."
However, these exercises are worth every bit of deviation for people on any
path. Not only did they enhance the depth of my kriya practice, but they also
create near-immediate integration of experiences and concepts into my being.
As a writer, co-creator of many types of events and a teacher of creativity
and writing workshops, this is invaluable. I found that by following these
exercises to access that contact point at which the Divine Higher Self meets
Soul meets Spirit, my ability to instantly assimilate and integrate life
experience has been greatly increased.
For instance, just yesterday (May 20), I had to give a one-hour session by
conference call to the Project Purpose Writing Team -- a group of freelance
writers spread throughout the country. I had no idea what the format for the
session was; I simply thought I was supposed to answer questions. Instead, I
was informed that they wanted me to speak on a topic. One of the members said
something about having difficulty incorporating her life experiences into her
professional writing...the light went on. I took her statement and instantly
turned it into a full one-hour discussion of how to integrate life experience
into every sentence that we write. I had complete access to universal
guidance, to my collective unconscious and to my own experiences as a writer
and human being. It was totally spontaneous. When I was finished, my
significant other, who was listening in, said to me, "You've got to create a
CD series for your writing workshops." A new idea was born.
So I've found in these exercises the final piece to the greatest puzzle of my
life -- being able to integrate all the thoughts, inspirations, bits of
guidance, experiences, readings, conversations and memories that race and
crash through my head like a pack of five-year-olds racing Indy cars. It all
comes together at that point from which the Divine Higher Self operates, and
it flows seamlessly onto the page -- or into the workshop classroom.
No matter how advanced or new we are to the spiritual path, there is always
something that comes along that makes the most advanced and important and
higher-vibration principles easy to understand and implement. That's what
you've done with the Awakening the Soul practice. As one who is VERY
discerning when it comes to all the latest so-called "can't miss" spiritual
practices and "discoveries" coming down the pike -- how many hundreds have we
seen in our many years of meditating, Bill, that do nothing more than cause
greater confusion? -- I'm sold on the practice you have been guided to
present to us. If it enhances high-level kriya yoga, then it will enhance
anything.
